Work from ANYWHERE if you’re a part of the modern “gig economy.” Here’s me, at WeWork, in a fun, tiny soundproof room built against the wall. It kind of resembled a train compartment.

More people than ever are saying “no” to office life. And there’s a reason. Today’s new workforce is also known as the gig economy.

I heard about this when I was at #CMWorld last week, listening to Mike Weiss from The Creative Circle speak from the stage how hiring remote freelancers is a huge part of our future.

Whether you call it the freelance industry, the gig economy, solopreneur, or something similar, a single factor remains constant. This industry is growing.

According to a 2017 study by Freelancers Union and Upwork, freelancers are expected to become the majority of the workforce by 2027.

Today, 57.3 million Americans work freelance — that’s 36% of the workforce.

By as early as 2020, 43% of U.S. workers will freelance.
